June 4th Kickoff Details

Welcome, and thank you for joining the AI Build Challenge, powered by the AI Collective Hampton Roads and hosted by Regent University!

Whether you're a seasoned developer writing code or a beginner working with no-code and low-code tools, there's a place for you here.

Our Kickoff is Thursday evening, June 4th, so we want to highlight key logistics to help everyone start strong.

KICKOFF EVENT
  • Thursday, June 4th, 6:30–8:00pm
  • Regent University Library Auditorium (second floor of the Library, off the main foyer)
  • 1000 Regent University Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23464
  • Campus Map: Interactive and PDF versions
  • Parking: Lots B & C are closest to the Library, but Lot L beside the Communication Building has the most available parking.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT KICKOFF
  • Opening remarks
  • Overview & problem statement
  • Competition logistics (rules, timeline, judging criteria, prizes, etc.)
  • Walkthrough of AI tools, resources, and process
  • Closing remarks
  • Optional Extras: Networking, team formation, ideation, discussion

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
  • We'll send out the kickoff recording, presentation slides, & additional resources.
  • You have two weeks to build your project on your own schedule — solo or as a team.
  • You can still compete even if you are unable to attend the in-person Kickoff, as long as you (or a team member) can present in-person on June 18th.

PRESENTATIONS & JUDGING NIGHT
  • Thursday, June 18th, 6:30–9:00pm
  • Return to the Regent Library Auditorium to share your work (additional details forthcoming)!
  • Presentations must be delivered in person to be considered for judging and prizes.

We're excited to see you at the in-person Kickoff. Let's build together!
